All Things Greece with Pemi and Tanya

Season 4, Episode 4: I took notes so you didn’t have to…. So grab your beverage of choice and let's get into it!

Oh man was this a fun episode. I love Greece. I love the people, the food, the culture. It’s been on a bucket list to visit for many years and after speaking with Pemi and Tanya from WorldwideGreeks.com and BostonGreeks.com I am buying a plane ticket much sooner than later for sure. These incredible women have release not one but two cookbooks!!! So if you are like me and want more Greek food in your life then you need to grab these cookbooks, Cooking Greek Cookbook and Baking Baklava Cookbook. Not only will you be cooking some amazing Greek food but by purchasing these books you are also supporting some incredible women who are self published entrepreneurs.

In our conversation we bounce around to a lot of topics but one very very important one is where to find really good feta. I mean there’s some great brands based in the US but if you want some authentic Greek Feta the gal suggest a brand called Dodoni. It’s a blend of sheep and goat’s milk which gives it a more authentic taste than I lot of what you find here in the US which tends to be cow’s milk based. I also feel like the feta in the states can be very salty verse the creamy and smooth tasting feta you’d get in Greece.

Drink Like a German with Lisa from Tupetz wine

Season 4, Episode 3: I took notes so you didn’t have to…. So grab your beverage of choice and let's get into it!

Holy crap how thirsty are you right?!?! Lisa makes you want/need to have a glass of wine in your life ASAP for sure!!! If you are interested in learning more about Lisa and her amazing wines you need to go here RIGHT NOW and check everything out! You should absolutely join her wine club to drink like a german and experience some of the most delicious German wines around! You can also connect with Lisa via Instagram too!

Have you ever been to Cologne Germany? I have not had the pleasure yet to visit but it’s on my list and I loved Lisa’s fun fact about Kölsch beer. It’s served in smaller glasses and they will keep bringing you beers until you put a coaster on top of your glass. So if you ever find yourself at a bar in Cologne and wonder why they keep serving you Kölsch, put your coaster on top of that glass!!

Someone asked about funky wine pairings which I LOVE deep diving on. One of Lisa’s favorites is Caramel Sea Salt Kettle Corn and a Sparkling wine like Champagne, Sekt or Cava. So I did more googling and found a few worth trying….

BBQ Potato Chips and Rose

Cheezit’s and Sauvignon Blanc

Strawberry Pop-Tarts and California Chardonnay

Hot Wings and Riesling (truly any spicy food and riesling are a match made in heaven)

Gyros and Grenache

Cotton Candy and Lambrusco Rosato

Smores and Madeira

Fries or Plain Potato Chips and ANY kind of sparkling white wine

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups and Amontillado Sherry

Brownies and Ruby Port

Bacon/Bacon wrapped ANYTHING with Dry Marsala

Mozzarella Sticks and Cab Franc

Remember to support your local wine shops and if you need any wine advice you can always reach out to Lisa directly!
