Have you ever been to Cologne Germany? I have not had the pleasure yet to visit but it’s on my list and I loved Lisa’s fun fact about Kölsch beer. It’s served in smaller glasses and they will keep bringing you beers until you put a coaster on top of your glass. So if you ever find yourself at a bar in Cologne and wonder why they keep serving you Kölsch, put your coaster on top of that glass!!
Someone asked about funky wine pairings which I LOVE deep diving on. One of Lisa’s favorites is Caramel Sea Salt Kettle Corn and a Sparkling wine like Champagne, Sekt or Cava. So I did more googling and found a few worth trying….
BBQ Potato Chips and Rose
Cheezit’s and Sauvignon Blanc
Strawberry Pop-Tarts and California Chardonnay
Hot Wings and Riesling (truly any spicy food and riesling are a match made in heaven)
Gyros and Grenache
Cotton Candy and Lambrusco Rosato
Smores and Madeira
Fries or Plain Potato Chips and ANY kind of sparkling white wine
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups and Amontillado Sherry
Brownies and Ruby Port
Bacon/Bacon wrapped ANYTHING with Dry Marsala
